Originally from Bordeaux, we lived in Northern California and New England, USA, as well as in Germany and Switzerland before settling in Dordogne. We speak English and German in addition to our native French. We love Périgord, its fascinating heritage, its simple way of life and generous gastronomy, and we enjoy sharing tips and local addresses with our guests. We live on the property and remain discreetly available for occasional advice and assistance.

Le Petit Manoir is ideally located in a quiet hamlet in the countryside, just minutes of the most popular medieval city in Dordogne, Sarlat-la-Caneda : green and peaceful, yet close to it all! Within 15 minutes, you'll reach many amazing sites in Périgord Noir, and you will come back to a peaveful haven after a full day of discoveries. Each period cottage offers a large private garden with a terrace and a BBQ, with an independent entrance, out of sight of adjacent rentals. The units are self-catered with a fully equiped kitchen to prepare your meals, a cozy living room and comfortable bedrooms with new or recent high-quality beds. Most are air-conditioned, all have adequate heating in the spring and fall. Le Petit Manoir is not a hotel : there are no meal services on site, nor other hotel-style services. Our guests are fully autonomous in their vacation homes during their stay and we respect their privacy. The landscaped grounds with the pool are an invitation to slow down and take a break in a beautiful natural environment.

Le Petit Manoir borders a quiet backcountry road leading to Sarlat in 10 minutes, the touristic capital of Périgord Noir, worth a visit year-round for its medieval buildings on narrow cobbled streets, its vibrant food scene and its open markets, drawing crowds from miles away! Within walking distance south of us flows the river Dordogne, with the quaint beach of Vitrac and its canoeing facilities. Vitrac lies within the "Valley of 6 castles" in Périgord Noir, the area with the highest density of major heritage sites, such as the castles of Beynac and Castelnaud, or the "most beautiful French villages" of Domme and La Roque Gageac. Lascaux and the prehistoric sites of the Vézère valley are only 30 minutes away. Last but not least, Le Petit Manoir is surrounded with many remarquable restaurants, where a friendly staff will tempt your palate with delicious local specialties.
