'Le Verger' is a recently renovated home overlooking the small village of Ségur-le-Château in the Corrèze department of France. With three spacious rooms available, ALL with MOBILE AIR CONDITIONING Units, you can enjoy the stunning views across the village, church and surrounding countryside whilst still being only a 5 minute stroll (550m) from the heart of one of France's most beautiful villages and it's restaurants, medieval buildings and stunning castle. Jay and Hazel previously ran the successful 'La Ruche' chambres d'hôtes in the centre of the same village for 6 years, and continue to offer the same high level of comfort and quality to all visitors (and their pets!) as before, with safe parking for motorbikes and cars, and a secure locked garage for bicycles. The house is surrounded on all sides by a large garden complete with a small orchard. Work is still in progress on taming the garden, but guests can enjoy seasonal fruit from the trees and homemade jam with their continental breakfast. In warmer months it is possible to have breakfast on the south-facing balcony and enjoy the view. Evening meals are available on request - we can cater for all dietary requirements. PLEASE NOTE: unfortunately due to health issues and allergies, this property AND the garden are strictly no-smoking or vaping. Between April and October, the beautiful little village of Ségur-le-Château becomes more vibrant with the opening of the restaurants and cafés and outdoor events. During July and August, the local producers hold a market with a wide choice of regional foods and wine for everyone to buy and take home or enjoy on the night to the accompaniment of live music. Other events during the year include a painting competition, vide grenier and guided tours of the medieval village and the magnificent château. There is also a wonderful winter artisan market with over 30 stalls held in the centre of the village on the last Saturday before Christmas. If you prefer walking in the countryside, there are several trails starting in the village. Ségur-le-Château is also the prefect base from which to explore nearby Pompadour, St Yrieix-la-Perche and Coussac-Bonneval or slightly further away, Excideuil, Hautefort, and the walking trails along the Auvézère river.
