The gîtes were once a barn. It was transformed into two spacious holiday homes which are wheelchair family friendly and accessible to all. Both gîtes have a private pool. In addition to a well equipped kitchen/dining room, a lounge with log burner and flatscreen TV. We are just 2 km from the centre of Lezay, the local market town. It has restaurants, bars, pharmacies, a supermarket and boulangeries who make fantastic cakes and pastries. Generally it's a sleepy, country town but on Tuesdays it becomes a bustling market where you can buy everything from oysters to live chickens. We have recently taken over the property and are thoroughly enjoying meeting new guests and looking forward welcoming back previous guests.

We moved here from the UK in September 2022. We took over the chickens from the previous owners who more than keep us in eggs. We also have a friendly old cat. We like to grow our own fruit and veg although we seem to have more success with weeds than anything else. Eric is French and a chef having owned restaurants and delis in the Midlands. Sarah is creative, she sews, knits, crochets and is a silversmith. In addition, she is a yoga teacher and a Thai yoga massage practitioner. Both of us wanted to move here to enjoy the slower pace of French life. We are enjoying it immensely.

The area around the gites is flat so great for cycling, walking and running. We are close enough to the village of Lezay to have everything at hand including restaurants, bars, bakeries and a supermarket. There is lots to do in the area from kayaking , swimming to go karting, Further afield for a day out at the seaside you can do La Rochelle easily or the amusement park Futuroscope near Poitiers.
