Its location really being a riverside property and the mountains so close you could touch them. It's very relaxing here and we are easy going. You can for instance use the picnic tables in the garden in the evenings if you want, we won't object. We do not allow children of 14 years or younger which helps maintain the ambience of the property. We are a traditional French Chambres D'Hotes (not a B&B or hotel) which is a very unique form of French accommodation. Basically we are a private house that rents rooms and for you it is like staying with family and friends. Traditionally you also receive a FREE breakfast when you stay in a Chambres D'Hotes. We also offer Table D'Hotes (which means table of hosts), please ask when making your reservation.
Hi and welcome to my home which I am very happy to share with you. We have lived here for nearly 20 years yet every day the view is different. Different colours on the mountains, the river going faster or slower and of course the wildlife which includes birds of prey, wild boar, rabbits plus many different river side animals. I enjoy meeting people and we have had many visitors over the years from all over the world (Asia, Australia and New Zeeland, Europe, North American and South American). Most of visitors tend to be French followed by Spanish, Belgian and Dutch. I like outside activities and there are many here. I also like rugby and there are many top teams within a short drive to go watch.
Peace and quiet but with the advantage of being close to a large town (4km/5 minutes by car). There are no shops here, just a small bar and restaurant which opens irregularly. People come here to visit the Cathar Castles (we are in the middle of them all), Take part in water sports like rafting etc. and of course walking. There are loads of other activities here and about to cover just about everything from rock climbing to sitting on the beach beside the lakes. Lots of museums to visit on rainy days not that we have that many and only an hour from the city of Carcassonne. July and August see local fetes and activity with live music in Quillan.
