Our house was once one of the first shops to sell electrical items in town and the owners worked for EDF at the time when lake vassiviere was being built in the 50's. The house was said to have been built with money that was dropped in the area to help the war effort and the resistance!!! Our house is very special to us as we fell in love with the view of the lake when we first visited. The view is constantly changing within the seasons and offers breathtaking moments throughout the day and night. We especially love the reflections it offers, the bird life and the bright sunny mornings which guests can enjoy whilst eating breakfast on our lake side terrace. Dinner is also magical as the sun sets and the swallows entertain with their swooping show!
I am all about enjoying the surrounding countryside of our beautiful Limousin. It has so much to offer. Hiking trails are everywhere. Water is also very present which allows our guests to swim, sail, waterski, jet boat or simply sunbathe and relax. There are pretty mediaeval hilltop villages, Romanesque architecture, hills, rivers and valleys to explore. I am a great brocanteur and love going to all the large bric a brac markets each Sunday over the tourist season. Food here is very fresh and local. Everyone should try a Limousin steak while they are here plus many other local specialties.
Every year in the Limousin there are a multitude of events, fêtes, concerts and markets to take part in. We have all the information available for our guests. Some of our favourites occur in our town including the 1st May book fair, evening markets twice a month during summer, our famous fireworks on the 14th July and 9th August and our jazz festival which this year falls on the week of the 15th until the 19th July. There are many more events toonumerous to mention now but which run from April until November in and around our beautiful town.
