My parents loved the long beaches and mountains in the hinterland of the Languedoc-Rousillion region. Almost every summer we spent wonderful summer days in the small town of Portiragnes. When a new development area was opened in 1999, the decision was quickly made to settle down during the summertime. Unfortunately my parents can no longer use the house and my wife and I are both fully employed. So that the house is not empty, we decided to make the house available to our guests. What makes the house unique is the well-kept garden, the location within walking distance of the town center, your own pool and the dearest neighbors you can imagine.
Barbara and I have traveled almost all over the world. We also spent a lot of work abroad, from Brussels to Singapore to Shanghai. However, we prefer to be in our small house in Portiragnes and enjoy the sun, the beach and the good wine. We both love good food, social evenings with our friends and good red wine ..... and there is enough down there :-)
In addition to the beautiful beaches and the Canal de Midi, the historic cities of Agde, Sete, Montpellier and Perpignan invite you to visit. But the hinterland is also always worth a visit. For lovers of good wine, I recommend a day tour along the Rue de Corbieres. Please also visit our page "our favorite house" for current tips on the immediate area and the region.
