Our house is close to the airport , 45 minutes from Perpignan. There are also good train links straight to the village. The 1euro train goes directly from Perpignan station to the village. There are many family-friendly activities and the area is known for the variety of walks and cycling routes. The village itself is beautiful with many restaurants serving excellent quality food. Browse the shops and the ramparts of the amazing original medieval walls of the fortified village. A variety of excellent beaches are 45 minutes away including Canet en Roussillon and Argeles sur Mer, and ski resorts such as Font Romeu, Les Angles and Formigueres around the same distance. Large markets are held on Tuesday and Saturdays in Prades. These are thriving, busy markets where you can buy local produce such as vegetables, cheeses, meats etc. It’s also a very good time to grab a seat at a pavement café and watch the world go by! There is a small boulangerer in Villefranche where you will be able to buy essential food but for larger shopping there is an Aldi and Super U in Prades, and an Intermarche in Vernet Les Bains. We have 4 double bedrooms (3 of them are super king beds that can be split up into singles) and one double room. The kitchen and bathrooms are newly installed and comfortable. We have a courtyard garden that is within the original ramparts of the village where you can relax and BBQ. Villefranche de Conflent is the gateway to the Pyrenees and therefore there is access to a whole variety of different holidays. For the more active, hiking in places like Gorges De Caranca, bike tracks in the numerous ski resorts, lake and sea swimming at Vinca and the coast, and high ropes and canyoning. For a more relaxed vibe, relax at the pools in Vernet Les Bain and Le Bains de St Thomas, soak up the miles of beautiful coastline and take in the French culture and scenery in beautiful villages like Eus.

My dream has always been to own a house in the Pyrenees. It offers excellent holidays - both in the summer and winter. We have tried to make your stay as comfortable as possible whilst retaining the charm of this amazing village. The village is a friendly place - the businesses all support each other. Villefranche de Conflent has much charm. Walk to many bars and restaurants and also peruse the charming shops. Visit caves and beautiful scenery. Ski and visit beaches within 40 minutes including Pyrenees 2000 and Argeles Sur Mer There are many places of interest and things to do in the local area. If you drive up towards Andorra, after around 25 minutes, at Fontpedrose, take the left hand turn towards Thomas Les Bains. Follow signs to the thermal baths. A lovely way to pass an afternoon in any weather. Another 15 minutes further up, you will reach Mont Louis. Stroll around the fortified town and have a coffee in a bar. A little further, you will reach several ski resorts – Font Romeu, Les Angles, Formigueres…they also serve as hikes and bike trails in summer. Head up towards Vernet Les Bains from Villefranche. Vernet has outdoor pools, thermes and a casino! It also has some nice restaurants, especially an Indian restaurant – Jardin Du Jasmin. Continue up towards Casteil, park up and walk up to the Abbey of Saint-Martin-de-Canigou. Amazing walk and abbey when you get there. There is also an animal park in Casteil for the children. Right next to Villefranche, there are caves that are worth a visit and there is a beautiful secret walk to a cave just outside the village where you will not find a better view anywhere!
