The Gate House is situated in the heart of the historic wine village of Santenay. The property lies opposite our house & winery with a shared courtyard and your own area to eat and relax throughout your stay. The house is 70 square metres, with one large double bedroom and one small double bedroom located above the kitchen. The Gate House was renovated in 2022 and styled to be a comfortable yet elegant place to stay. Please note that the house is not wheelchair accessible.
I moved to Burgundy from the UK a number of years ago and live with my partner Stephanie originally from Canada. I trained as a chef in London before moving to France to become a winemaker. We run a small winery on the property and our wines are available for purchase on site. Stephanie works as a professional in the tourism industry. Enthusiastic cyclists with great knowledge of the best routes. We're also keen to share with you some great walks around the area, tried and tested alongside our golden retriever Bertie. Santenay boasts many wineries and incredible views, being located at the southern tip of the famous Cote d'Or in Burgundy. We are in the heart of the village where you can enjoy a number of local restaurants and winery visits. Only a 5 minute walk from the house you'll find the Val Vital thermal spa, where visitors come from all over Europe. Just up from the spa, you will find the local outdoor swimming pool open throughout the summer months. Our property is located directly on the famous 'voie verte' cycle path that takes you up and down the region, through the vineyards and neighbouring villages. Santenay also offers a casino, multiple restaurants, a supermarket located directly in front of the house and a bakery 190m away.
