Cooking lessons and dinners with world-renowned chefs, wine tastings with seasoned sommeliers, surf lessons and excursions, and in-room spa services are just a few fantastic options. Wandering the gardens, daydreaming in the orchard, or curling up by the fire in the study are a few more often unplanned, yet equally enjoyable (and often much-needed!) experiences for many manor guests. Plenty of fodder for postcards home, a charming collection of which are strategically strewn about the manor for guests to stumble upon and share. The manor’s original, solid oak floors testify to a bygone era of craftsmanship, worn soft by centuries of slipper-clad feet. Expert modern tile work, exceptional finishes, and cunning attention to detail complement the heavy wood beams, custom furniture, and polished, original doorframes. For modern families and travelers, Manoir du Moulin captures everything the heart yearns for in a European escape – true authenticity of the region, coupled with all the comforts of contemporary luxury.
We are two Canadian expats who formerly and still part time live in Amsterdam. We had a dream to come to France and find a beautiful old house to restore and create a B&B. We ran the very successful luxury B&B for 7 years and have now made the transition to offering a luxury holiday rental instead of a B&B. **Please note that we do live on-site in our own completely private part of the house**
Our village of Sainte Hermine has retained it’s rustic French charm and there are two small bars, one an English Pub serving food. There is also a nice restaurant, three boulangeries, a butcher and even a small movie theatre, all within easy walking distance of the manoir. Every Friday morning there is also a market featuring local fruit, vegetables and seafoods. During the summer months there is an outdoor municipal swimming pool just down the road for everyone to cool off in.
