The gite Petite Maison de Mouton has been renovated from an agricultural building which used to house animals .It is a detached property which has its own private garden including fruit trees (cherry and plum] The garden has a garden table 4 chairs and a large barbecue. There is also a parking space in the garden. The gite has 2 bedrooms, one on the ground floor and one upstairs, 1 bathroom with shower, and an open plan kitchen / sitting room.
I have been living in France for 4 years and really love the Haute Vienne area, having visited lots of villages, and town like Poitiers (just over an hour by car) which is a medieval town and is very pretty, you will enjoy walking around it with Cathedrals and churches to look around, as well as lots of pretty shops. You can also use the gite as a base to go further afield, with Tours 2 hours drive, which we enjoyed , and La Rochelle well worth a visit (2 and half hours by car)
Azat Le Ris is located in Haute Vienne and is a countryside location with lots of local walks, and bike rides. It is a pretty village, where you can walk to the village bar, which also does food, to the lovely little church, Post Office, or collect your fresh baguettes and croissants from the bread dispenser outside the Marie, Azat Le Ris is only 15 minutes drive from Le Dorat, a pretty village with cafe's, restaurants, banks, boulangerie and a small supermarket with a petrol station. The Medieval town of Montmorillon is only 25 minutes by car, and while it has other supermarkets, cinema, restaurants, its very pretty to walk around and has a weekly market on Wednesday mornings.
