Nestled in the foothills of the Pyrenees, this delightful 4 bedroom villa is located in the quaint village of Axat. With contemporary living spaces, a large private garden and stunning mountain and river views. Axat's amenities are within a 5 minute walk and include bakery, butchers, café, minimart, farm shop, restaurants, pharmacy, post office, cinema and open air swimming pool (summer months). Just over an hour away are the Mediterranean beaches and ski resorts of Les Angles & Font Romeu.
The house is within easy reach of some truly spectacular tourist attractions. From the famous fortified city of Carcassonne (1 hour by car); Limoux (famous for its Cremant de Limoux, that’s said to have been invented many years before Champagne ever was - 45 minutes away); Perpignan and the med beaches (1 hour away - the road to the coast travels through some of the most stunning vineyards and scenery). Or a short trip into nearby Quillan for its twice weekly markets (Weds and Sat), numerous restaurants and fresh water swimming at Lac St Bertrand. Regular bus services run between Axat and Carcassonne (via Quillan) or Axat and Perpignan - departing from the train station (a five minute walk from the villa) with all journeys just 1 Euro!
