This is a large hobby farm in really beautiful countryside, with the three houses sited perfectly in the middle of the land, overlooking woods and meadows running down to the river. It's 500m to the main road so its VERY quiet here. Birdsong is the main noise! We have several horses and highland cattle bulls, cats and friendly dogs. The house is detached and near to the Chateaux and its Gatehouse, so is private with its own secure garden and parking. Its a mid 18th century farm manager's house with a slope access and everything on the ground floor. The kitchen is modern or you can walk down to the nearest bistro in Oradour ST Genest where they serve the best food for many miles. It is comfortable and has a lovely ambience.
We love meeting new people and helping them enjoy their stay here. We moved from England a couple of years ago and offer help if you are looking to move the area; we love it here!
There is a restaurant in the town, 500m walk. The Supermarket in Le Dorat is 6 minutes away and is a decent sized shop. For bigger shops, Bellac or Montmorillon (20/30 minutes drive respectively) have the full range of retailers and restaurants. The nearest beach is St Pardoux, about 40 minutes away and a great place to swim and relax. You can of course take walks along our river and through the large woods, and paddle in the river right here.
