A calm, sun-filled retreat for two, this spacious 49 m² chalet-style stay stands out for its views, light and outdoor living. The generous terrace/garden space is perfect for slow breakfasts, an aperitif at sunset, or simply unwinding in the fresh mountain air. Inside, the living area features lots of windows, designed to make the most of the sunshine and panorama throughout the day - a real little luxury in the Alps. Travelling with friends or family? We also have a second chalet next door sleeping up to 6, so depending on availability it may be possible to book both properties together for a larger group, while still enjoying separate spaces.

We’re a French–English couple, and we love welcoming guests who are curious to experience this special corner of the mountains. Bernard is a high mountain guide, and between us we’re happiest outdoors — hiking, climbing, ski touring and exploring quiet valleys throughout the year. Hosting is our way of sharing what we love: beautiful landscapes, fresh air, local villages and the relaxed Alpine lifestyle. We’re always happy to offer tips on the best walks, viewpoints, and low-impact ways to enjoy the area, so you can make the most of your stay while helping to look after the mountains too.

Our home is in a quiet, south-facing perched village, on the local “perched villages” circuit, with sunshine and mountain views. Hiking, trail running and mountain biking start straight from the door, so you can explore without needing to drive. For road cyclists, you’re close to the Col de la Sentinelle, a classic local climb that has featured on the Tour de France (most recently in 2019). Horse riders are also well catered for, with the Écuries du Rigodon nearby offering riding activities and lessons. In terms of days out: you’re around 10 minutes from Gap for cultural events and amenities, 20 minutes to Tallard aerodrome for parachuting, microlights (ULM) and hot-air ballooning, and about 20 minutes to Lac de Serre-Ponçon for swimming and summer watersports. Winter ski resorts are within roughly 40 minutes. And just 5 minutes away is the Sanctuary of Notre-Dame du Laus, one of France’s major Catholic pilgrimage sites. In the village, families love the Ferme du Col educational farm, there’s a relaxed Tuesday evening summer market (sometimes with live music), and a friendly community-run bar open on Tuesday and Fridays for the rest of the year.
