The Vacances au Lac house is so old that we don’t know exactly how old it is! A long time ago, it was a post house, and later it served as a clog shop. To breathe new life into this beautiful family home, which had stood empty for years, we renovated it ourselves in 2025. Granite stone walls and old wooden beams lend charm to this fantastic house. We have tried to retain as much of the old style as possible whilst still incorporating modern comforts. Spacious walk-in showers, plenty of toilets and a modern kitchen featuring a dishwasher, amongst other things. Upon entering, you find yourself immediately in the large living and dining room, which is built entirely with granite walls. These thick walls provide natural cooling during the hot summers. Air conditioning is therefore not necessary in this house. The living room has a large dining table for enjoying a delicious meal together. The house has central heating, and for cold winter evenings there is a wood-burning stove in the living room. A large garden with fruittrees and flowers and where deer and foxes pass by at night. Vacances au Lac is ideal for large families and active nature lovers.

We enjoy long walks with the dog and mountain biking in the woods all year round. In the summer months, we enjoy hours of swimming and other activities with the whole family at Lake Saint-Pardoux. The adventure park with its cable cars is, alongside the water park in the lake, our favourite activity. We prefer to go kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and pedal boating in the early evening when it’s a bit cooler. Wakeboarding is still on our to-do list. On the long, warm summer evenings, we love to be on the lake’s beach for a refreshing evening dip in the water, a bite to eat from one of the food trucks, or a drink whilst watching a live performance. On Sunday mornings, we can usually be found at one of the many brocantes/vide-greniers (flea markets) in the region. Or at the market selling local produce in Saint-Pardoux-le-Lac. On a rainy day, we like to go to the cinema, bowling alley or laser tag in Limoges. Enjoy a spot of shopping with lunch or a drink in one of the many restaurants and bars. But we’ve also already explored the many museums.

Vacances au Lac is situated 500 metres from Lac de Saint-Pardoux and 1 kilometre from Chabannes Beach and Santrop Beach. A large swimming lake, surrounded by woods and meadows. Three beaches offering a variety of sporting activities for all ages: wakeboarding and water skiing, indoor and outdoor pools with slides, an Aquapark, an Adventure Park with cable cars across the lake, a Water Sports Centre with pedal boat, kayak and stand-up paddleboard hire, e-mountain bikes and playgrounds. A variety of restaurants and food trucks for a cosy bite to eat or a drink. And during the summer months, there are weekly events, such as live performances, markets, fireworks displays and concerts. The region is ideal for road cycling and mountain biking. It’s also a great spot for long nature walks. Terra Aventura is the local free geocaching trail. Limoges is 15 minutes from Vacances au Lac. The city is known for its porcelain, numerous museums, charming shops and delicious restaurants. Around Limoges, there is a zoo and aquarium, a golf course, bowling alleys, a cinema and many other fun activities for groups. Limoges Airport proposes serveral weekly flights to the UK.
