As many people know Villa Marguerite is a mix of we-city-people from Amsterdam + guests being in the very quiet surrounding of the Escandorgues with royal eagles, the river swimmings, the outdoor eating, in a very calm village atmosphere. We share our 200 m2 with 1 other party of guests. There are 2 main sleeping rooms for 2 doubles and 2 singles and 2 extra spaces with 1 double and the other 2 singles. Villa Marguerite is best described as “very good in all the middle” of all known accommodation models. It’s a b+b but you can skip breakfasts, it’s not a private house but you can use our kitchen, it’s not a hotel but we bring a bottle of champagne, it’s not a retreat but enough room to enjoy Qi Gong with us. There is a special room 25M2 for breakfast, eating and playing games. In short: Villa Marguerite is made in the spirit of social hospitality.
We, Fred de Jong and Kit Seur, born and raised in Amsterdam, started our first guesthouse in 1995. In 2020 it was time to live a different life in one of the green lungs of France. Fred is an artist, Kit a photographer, we cycle and we both love traveling, small or large, unforeseen or well organised.
The Gravezon valley is classified as a "fragile natural environment" and is a protected development zone. This is exactly what our guests love: an unspoilt and particularly wild site of the South. Day trips to Cirque de Mourèze, Gorges d'Heric, Lac du Salagou, Minerve, the Larzac are unforgetable. Being close by but away from the hustle and bustle is what we often hear from our guests.
