Set in peaceful rural surroundings just a short drive from the D-Day landing beaches, the villa combines calm, space, and comfort in a way that feels instantly grounding. It’s the kind of house where mornings are quiet, days stretch gently, and evenings naturally gather around warmth and conversation. Inside, the villa is warm and welcoming, with a cozy atmosphere that feels lived-in and effortless rather than formal. The fireplace becomes the heart of the house in the evenings, especially after a day exploring the coast or countryside — ideal for quiet nights, shared meals, and slow conversations. Becoming hosts happened naturally. Once we realised how often friends lingered, how nobody ever wanted to leave quite on time, we understood that this villa wasn’t just ours. It was meant to give others the same sense of calm and space that convinced us to buy it in the first place. Now, a year later, welcoming guests still feels special. Every stay is a continuation of that first decision — to choose a slower rhythm, to open the doors, and to share a place that has already given us so much.

The village of Graignes doesn’t announce itself loudly. It reveals itself slowly — the way places do when they’ve learned that time is not something to rush. Set at the edge of the Normandy marshlands, Graignes feels gently apart from the world. Roads narrow as you arrive, hedgerows grow taller, and suddenly everything becomes quieter. The village sits surrounded by water and fields, changing mood with the seasons — misty and reflective in the mornings, golden and expansive in the evenings. Graignes carries its history with a quiet dignity. During World War II, it played a small but courageous role in the days following D-Day, and that sense of resilience still lingers. There’s no grand display of it just a feeling that this is a place that has seen a lot, endured, and chosen peace.
