Sanday is one of the Notth Isles of Orkney, renowned for its white sand beaches and beautiful landscapes. The accommodation is part of our home and consists of a large porch area where bikes, fishing gears and other large items can be stored, there is also a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. The shower room is small but bright and clean. The kitchen is large and very well equipped and has a table and a small free standing breakfast bar. The lounge is cozy with a sofa bed. The bedroom has a hotel quality kingsize bed which converts into 2 single beds if required.

Hi, my name is Johanna or Jo for short. 12 years ago Jeff, my husband, and I decided to start over and moved to Orkney all the way from Devon. Quite a move!! I love living here, the peace, the isolation, the sense of calm. Our main love are our 5 dogs. We both enjoy the outdoors and love going for walks and watching wildlife. I love reading and craft and Jeff likes tinkering with all things mechanical especially lister engines etc

Hi, we are Johanna and Jeff. We absolutely love living on Sanday. Having lived here for 12 years we can help you with anything you need to know to enjoy and make the most of your stay. The highlight of your stay here has to be the island itself. So beautiful. We are nestled beside a fresh water loch and back onto a bay which is usually very calm. There is so much wildlife to see. Hundreds of seals or 'selkies' gather here for their annual moult. You can watch some of the seals from our back garden. You may even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of an otter.<br />There is 5000 years of history here which includes a chambered burial chairn as well as shipwrecks and buildings from both world wars. <br />Our neighbourhood is dominated by sky, sea and fields. There is no industry on Sanday, only farming and fishing. You are likely to look out the window and see geese in the garden or curlews, lapwings and oystercatchers. <br /><br />Our house is very private with only one close neighbour.
