BallyCairn House was built in 2009 on a stunning elevated site with panoramic views of the Antrim Hills and the Causeway Coastal route. The gardens all around the house enhance the tranquil setting of the house and guests are most welcome to explore the grounds during their stay. The bedrooms are very spacious and have everything you need to relax and unwind in comfort. Breakfast is served in the dining room which has stunning views of Ballygally village and the surrounding farmland as well as the Irish Sea. On a clear day the Scottish coastline is visible. In the evening you are welcome to relax in the luxurious living room and enjoy a drink with your hosts. In colder weather a cosy open fire provides a special ambience. Our home is decorated with an extensive collection of artwork and artefact which we find stimulates much interest and conversation with guests.
We retired from teaching to fulfil our long time ambition to run our own B & B business. Since we opened at Easter 2016 we have loved meeting guests from all over the world. Dee and I have extensive knowledge of Northern Ireland and will help you plan excursions to hidden local gems as well as the well known visitor attractions.
BallyCairn House is situated just outside the picturesque village of Ballygally which has a beautiful beach, perfect for a stroll and paddle when the weather is fine. There is a well stocked shop in the village and two hotels. Cairndhu golf club and Carnfunnock Country park are just two miles from our home and a lovely traditional country pub is only a few minutes walk from the house. BallyCairn House is the perfect base for exploring Belfast, The Gobbins, a The Causeway Coastal Route and The Glens of Antrim. Many guests who have stayed a night with us at the end of their holidays have often remarked that they wished they were staying for several days so that they could enjoy this beautiful part of East Antrim more fully.
