Welcome to Bear House B&B, a charming stay in the heart of the lovely market town of Colyton. Set within a characterful old Georgian house, our spacious top-floor ensuite room offers a cosy and comfortable base above the Cafe' and bakery. The large second-floor room includes a comfortable seating area with a traditional sofa, TV, cabinet and chairs, wardrobe, private ensuite bathroom, fresh bed linen and towels. Free W-iFi is available throughout the property, although speeds can occasionally vary due to the town location. The original Georgian charm of the house has been preserved, while double-glazed windows provide additional comfort. Breakfast is served daily. From Monday to Friday, a continental breakfast is included. On Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays, guests can choose either a continental breakfast or a freshly prepared full English breakfast which is included. Vegetarian options are also available. The property is ideally located in the heart of town opposite the magnificent St Andrew's church and near car park (although it is easy to find parking spots around), shops, hairdresser, bus stops, pubs and the lovely tramway attraction. PLEASE READ: we are situated next door to a pub, so some noise may occasionally be heard during busy evenings. However, the pub is well loved locally for its fantastic food and friendly atmosphere, making it a great option for lunch or dinner during your stay! We are also opposite our beautiful Church, expect bells ringing and the Church clock chiming on the quarter hour. Unfortunately, being an old property, we don't have a lift. There is one flight of stairs for the Double Budget Room, and two flights of stairs for the Top Room (which is an attic room).

Breakfast will be served in the Café' on the ground floor (which us also open to the public). Freshly cooked breakfast to order, we strive to source local / organic ingredients where possible. We bake handmade bread, cakes, scones and pastries on the premises, using a range of flours including Organic Whole White & Spelt. PLEASE NOTE: During the week we only serve continental breakfast (not buffet), whilst weekends guests can have a choice of either continental or English.

Colyton is close to the East Devon Way and South West Coast Path for breath taking walks and the A3052 to visit many of the South West’s attractions including the Jurassic Coast, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, Beer, Bridport and Westbay - the list is endless. The tramway from Colyton to Seaton can take you to the coast and back! Actually there are more beautiful places of interest than you can shake a donut at.
