Welcome to Bothan na Mara, a new shepherd’s hut holiday let coming to Uig this 2026 season! The Bothan itself is a cosy timber clad cabin on wheels only a seconds walk from the beach. The Bothan is lovingly furnished with unique and high quality pieces to make the space feel special and comfortable. It features: - luxurious double bed - Fresh linen - fully equipped kitchen with gas oven and hobs - Fridge freezer - Tea, Coffee and essentials - Spacious shower - Cosy dining area - TV & free WiFi - Comfy sofa as well as many hand crafted and decorated features.
Hi, we’re Jaz and Aidan, the hosts of Bothan na Mara, a shepherd’s hut holiday let set in the beautiful area of Uig on the Isle of Lewis. We live and work in Kneep close to the Bothan. We’re both passionate about this stunning part of the world and love sharing it with visitors from near and far. Aidan was born and raised in the village of Kneep, so he has plenty of local knowledge and stories to share.
Bothan na Mara sits in the village of Kneep in the heart of one of Uig’s most beautiful areas, with direct access to Valtos Beach and at the foot of the magical hills of the Valtos Peninsula. Take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear water or enjoy a short walk to the remains of Iron Age settlements, then return to the cosy and luxurious Bothan.
