We are a family-run holiday accommodation business and live on site, allowing us to be available if you need assistance while giving guests plenty of privacy to enjoy their stay. Although Chestnut Farm is not a working farm, guests can enjoy meeting our friendly animals, including our two sheep, two micro pigs, chickens, and two dogs. The peaceful rural setting makes it the perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the countryside. We take pride in providing comfortable, well maintained accommodation. An award winning, highly rated property comprising of 4 unique self-catering holiday cottages situated in a farm location over 900 feet above sea level with panoramic views all around. Located with both the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District on its boundaries and with the famous Limestone Way walk (https://www.visitpeakdistrict.com/trails/the-limestone-way) along its main boundary wall the cottages are ideally located for anyone wanting to walk, sightsee, take in the stunning views or just relax and enjoy a break in a rural location. Each cottage has it own allocated parking, free satellite wifi, Netflix TV's (sign-in required), DVDs and books and is only 10 minutes away from local shops and Matlock and Matlock Bath. All major supermarkets also deliver making it even easier to plan your time away and with 2 village pubs, a local Deli and Tea Room and a plant centre in the village you will be left needing more time to explore all that the local area has to offer! (Please note: No Commercial Vehicles, Vans, Caravans or Motorhomes are allowed at the cottages)

We are very fortunate to be right on the boundary of the Peak District National Park and the Derbyshire Dales with the Limestone way walk right along one of our boundary walls. Located at over 900 feet above sea level there is plenty of fresh air and scenery to enjoy! With many walks straight from your front door and 2 pubs within walking distance in the village along with a tea room and local shop you don't have to go far! Within 10 minutes drive you have the beautiful Black Rocks and Middleton Top ready to be explored. Head a little further and you are within striking distance of Carsington Water which offers lots of options for water sports, walking, shopping and a cafe. Alternatively you have the historic Bakewell and the stunning Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House within 20 minutes drive. There are truly too many options to list but whether you want to explore locally with the trains at Crich, rides at Gullivers Kingdom or the cable cars at The Heights of Abraham in Matlock, all the many historic villages and walks nearby or if you want to go to explore the caves or Blue John caverns in Castleton or the rides at Alton Towers in Stoke on Trent we are a great base for all!
