Blissfully nestled into the rolling hillside with panoramic views over patchwork fields and the Teifi Valley below, Red Kite and Woodpecker Cottages are a romantic peaceful retreat designed with couples in mind. Once part of a working farm, the barn-conversion cottages are full of character with beams and woodburning stoves but with modern touches like free high speed fibre wi-fi, Smart TVs, luxury bedlinen, stylish furnishings and EV charging facilities. The cottage kitchens are fully equipped for self-catering with oven, hob, full size fridge & freezer and a dishwasher too. The bathrooms have a big luxury bath plus a separate walk-in shower. Each cottage has a dedicated outdoor terrace area and access to 2 private picnic meadows to take in the spectacular views. On a clear day you can see as far as the Cambrian Mountains to the north and Preseli Hills to the south. Also on site, just a minutes' walk from the cottages is our luxury birdwatching cabin - Misty Heights. We built it from scratch to be a peaceful, cosy space for watching and photographing the woodland birds that live around the cottages. It features underfloor heating, high speed WiFi, electric sockets & charging points, comfortable chairs and tea & coffee facilities. We get woodpeckers, nuthatches, goldfinches, chaffinches, coal tits, bullfinches, long-tailed tits, siskins and treecreepers as well as the more common garden birds. You can also see buzzards and Red Kites overhead. It is available for guests to hire for exclusive private use for a few hours or for a whole day. If you are into bird photography, Leigh can also give you tips to help you get the best pictures and he also offers workshops. The cottages' location is secluded but not remote, being just 2 miles from the historic market town of Lampeter and within 25 minutes of the quaint harbour towns of Cardigan Bay.

We are Zena & Leigh - For 20 years we lived in a village in Berkshire, bringing up our son, running a successful photography studio and taking long walks in nature. We had gorgeous countryside on our doorstep but we craved to move to a more rural area for a more relaxed and peaceful life. Our search took us further and further west until we crossed the border into Wales…and our hearts soared! Mid Wales was a revelation to us – the hills, the valleys the lakes and rivers…the open spaces. Our Big Dream began to take shape. We then discovered the sweet spot where we could also be with half an hour of the sea and the most picture perfect harbour towns as well as the beautiful unspoilt beaches of Cardigan Bay. On our wishlist was a stunning view and a few acres of nature to wander in and create a haven for wildlife. Driving up the track to Coedmor Fach for the first time, it really felt like coming home. The view, the peace & quiet and the idyllic cottages…it was very emotional – just like an episode of Escape to the Country! We are so happy we can share our secluded corner of Wales with our cottage guests and help them to replenish their soul by spending time in nature.

Nestled in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains of Mid West Wales just outside the small town of Lampeter, Coedmor Cottages are perfectly situated if you’re looking to explore the abundance of attractions this part of Wales has to offer. Right on the Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion borders we are halfway between the edge of the dramatic Brecon Becons to the east and the stunning beaches of Cardigan Bay to the west. Northwards we have breathtaking Llyn Brianne, the Elan Valley and Cambrian Mountains. Go south and you will find magnificent Brechfa and Abergorlech forest. So if you enjoy walking or cycling or just taking in gorgeous scenery you will be in your element. As well as the natural wonders the area has a plethora of castles to explore, quaint and historic market and harbour towns to wander around, steam trains to ride and a vibrant foodie scene with markets and festivals galore. Attractions like the Dolaucothi Goldmine and National Botanic Gardens of Wales are within easy reach or head to the coast for dolphin-watching boat trips. Lampeter has a good variety of pubs, independent shops, restaurants & takeaways and 2 medium-size supermarkets (Sainsburys and Co-op).
