Grunkeys is NOT an unoccupied 3-bedroom apartment!! The "Booking" website will not let me change this description so I wish to make it absolutely clear that the accommodation we provide are private bedrooms in my house, where I live (and where my daughter lives half the time). At present (summer 2026 until end of October 2026) we also have a lodger. If you would like to stay with us, you very probably will meet me and our lodger, and possibly my daughter. It is possible (although not that common) that we may have other VRBO/Airbnb etc guests, the same sharing rules apply to all guests. The kitchen and dining rooms and all associated facilities are shared with everyone in the house. The sitting room is shared by everyone in the house. The upstairs bathroom will be shared with our lodger and my daughter, when she is staying. The downstairs bathroom is prioritised for any guests staying in the downstairs double room. The garden, parking area and outside decking are shared by everyone living at the house. Please be absolutely clear on this and if you are at all unsure, please get in touch prior to making a booking with any questions you might have. Thank you!

I live with my daughter half the time and our 2 cats and hamster all the time! I’m a great lover of the outdoors and really enjoy walking, running, DIY, music, reading and films. Despite the lack of mountains in Orkney, snowboarding and other snowsports are my favourite. I work hard and play hard; working to live not living to work if that makes sense!

Very peaceful, with sea on 3 sides. Very safe - all the neighbours know each other and look out for one another. Lots of bird life all around.
