We have been working in tourism for 20 years and we love meeting new Guests and to hear their stories etc! I own a Food Tour Company - and I am passionate about the amazing food and drink that we have in County Down which is considered the Garden of Northern Ireland due to its micro climate. We have more award winning Producers in this part of Northern Ireland than anywhere else. Joe is a Landscape Gardener - hence the beautiful natural stone floor and private patio Courtyard! Through my Food Tour Business NI food tours, I run Traditional Irish Bread making classes on a frequent basis. This experience is immersive and authentic with Guests making their own traditional Breads. Upcoming dates are posted on my website Private sessions are offered for groups of 5 or more. I have two wonderful boys, who love the outdoors and love caring for our dogs, hens, bees, cat etc. I love to go walking in this very peaceful area of outstanding natural beauty. The quiet country roads are perfect for some peace and quiet. You'll not meet another car on the roads! The vista of the Lough, Drumlins and the Countryside is ever changing through the seasons and we love it.
The cottage is situated in Ballymorran Bay on the shores of strangford lough in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are 30 minutes from Belfast City and 90 minutes from Dublin. There are beautiful walks right outside the gate! County Down is famous for its Drumlins and the roads are undulating - great for some exercise. We live in a quiet unspoilt part of Northern Ireland - there is very little traffic on our roads which makes it very safe for kids to go exploring / cycling etc. As you walk, everywhere you look is a feast for the eyes - the beautiful Lough, the rolling hills, all in a peaceful setting. You can escape from it all here and truly relax. Whilst we are in a rural setting, we do have three multi award winning restaurants including a Michelin Bib Gourmand, 2 AA Rosette restaurant 2 miles away. We are spoiled for choice with Bistro and fine dining establishments. In the Village of Killinchy, there is a coffee shop two convenience stores, one with a petrol station and an excellent restaurant, off licence. We also have and a lovely craft/ gift shop. For those who prefer local fresh fruit and vegetables we have a great farm shop and local Butcher. There is everything th
