Lake Lodge at Farthings Farm is a newly built wooden chalet with three bedrooms and two bathrooms with beautiful views of our large pond. It can sleep up to 7 people when using the sofa bed in the lounge. New for 2026 is a hot tub on the decking with beautiful countryside views (please note that it may not be available your first night as it takes time to heat up after water changes). Lake Lodge has a fully fitted luxury kitchen and a comfortable sitting area complete with log burner. There is also a separate snug room for anyone needing a separate space to work or relax in (with a desk). In addition we have superfast wifi from Starlink to keep you connected to the world. There is decking with tables which can be accessed directly from the lounge and main bedrooms which offers lovely countryside and pond views. As this is a farming area all dogs must remain on leads at all times outside the chalet and children should be closely supervised due to the pond and other farm hazards. There is private parking for two standard cars.

We bought Farthings Farm just over a year ago when it was mostly derelict. Since then we have restored the main farmhouse, the fencing and built Lake Lodge to live in whilst the restoration works were taking place. We loved living in the chalet and waking up to such beautiful views of the pond and our ducks and we hope you'll enjoy the opportunity to experience the same. We currently keep our horses, chickens,ducks,goats, cats and dogs on the farm and will soon be adding some pigs and sheep. Whilst we were restoring the main farmhouse we discovered an unused well and that now supplies a lot of our water following installation of a filtration system. Also, a new array of solar panels and batteries now supplies most of our electricity. The pond has been extensively dredged as well as a new retaining bank constructed and a decking area to relax on.

There is lots to do in the area with many countryside walks and Ashclyst Forest is just up the road for woodland walks. Quiet flat roads are ideal for cycling. A short drive will take you to the centre of historic Exeter with its beautiful Cathedral, old town and huge shopping area. The seaside is very accessible with both Exmouth and Sidmouth within a 25 minute drive. Beautiful Dartmoor is not far away either for a change of scene and stunning panoramic views. If you are attending weddings in the area such as at Rockbeare Manor then we are close by for accommodation. There are numerous country pubs in the locality (including a community run pub just up the road) serving excellent food, beers and locally made cider. The National Trust own a large amount of property in the area including Killerton House and Clyston Mill.
