Limestone Lodges are three luxury self-catering lodges situated on the northern edge of the Lake District National park, five minutes from Bassenthwaite and fifteen minutes from Keswick. Located in the small village of Bothel, we are renowned for our spectacular views over the Solway coastline to the Scottish hills. LUXURY - All of our lodges are four star gold award/ five star accredited with everything that you'd expect. This along with free access to one of the country's finest spas (5 minutes drive by car) make the Limestone Lodges holiday extra special. LANDSCAPE - Limestone Lodges is just a few miles from the best of the Northern Lake District, with lakes and fells at every turn. We are only 5 miles from Bassenthwaite Lake, yet we look towards the Scottish Mountains and enjoy spectacular sunsets over the Solway Firth. NATURE AND SCENERY - There's nowhere quite like Limestone Lodges for relaxing and watching the world of wildlife go by. While the weather is notoriously unpredictable (locals will tell you that it’s not unusual to experience all four seasons in a single day!), showers and racing clouds only emphasise the grandeur of the magnificent scenery.

Paul & Diane have welcomed visitors to Limestone Lodges for 20 years. After having careers in Local Authority and Banking respectively, they now work full time in providing some of the finest self catering accommodation to be found in the Lake District. They live next door to the lodges in Quarry House, a limestone cottage that used to belong to the Quarrymaster and his horses. Paul and Diane are always on hand to make sure your stay is a comfortable and relaxing one. Hugo (the boxer dog) likes to call on guests most mornings to make sure that they are having a lovely holiday!

There is so much to see and do whilst staying at Limestone Lodges. Keswick and Cockermouth are both within 15 minutes drive and offer some of the best food and real ale in the country. Carlisle is within 30 minutes drive enabling you to explore the attractive border city's history and heritage. The Scottish border is only 6 miles beyond Carlisle allowing you to easily spend a day in Scotland. We are a short stroll from the Greyhound Inn, our local pub which serves good bar food.
