Ballymena (meaning: middletown) is an ancient farming and market area around the Braid River valley area. The area has beautiful countryside scenery and reaches to the Slemish Mountain where Ireland's Patrick was said to have shepherded his flock. There are many points of interest in and close to the town area, as well as shopping and leisure establishments.
