Ceud Mile Fàilte gu Loch an Eilean Pod - a hundred thousand welcomes to Loch an Eilean Pod. A modern fully equipped self catering pod built in 2021 on the beautiful island of South Uist. Please note if you are arriving at Barra airport you need a ferry to go to the pod as the pod is in South Uist. Loch an Eilean pod is the perfect place for exploring South Uist with its many white sandy beaches and turquoise seas. South Uist is an idyllic holiday getaway whether you are looking for a relaxing chilled out holiday or to use our pod as a base for your outdoor pursuits.If you would like to hire a car try Car Hire Hebrides at Benbecula Airport.
Hi I’m Linda, I live in Fort William, with my family and our springer spaniel - Bracken. I enjoy gardening and walking our dog. My husband is from South Uist and we come to South Uist as often as work allows us.We plan to retire there. We love the peace and tranquillity of the island and we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we do. As we don’t live on site, we are always a phone call, email or text message away. We have made up a Welcome folder with in house information and useful local information. We would appreciate if you took the time to read this.
The pod is located in Garrynamonie, a Crofting township in South Uist. The beautiful white sandy beach with Machair is a 10 minute walk from the pod. Nearest Co-op shop is 3.7 miles away in Daliburgh. Nearest Cafe is Kilbride cafe which is 2.6 miles away. Nearest Medical practice is 4.1 miles away in Daliburgh. Nearest Pub is Polochar Inn which is 2.1 miles away in West Kilbride. Nearest Filling station is in Lochboisdale which is 6.7 miles away. (Open 24/7 - It is a self service station - card only)
