Property info

A spectacular bungalow on the banks of the Meare, in the seaside village of Thorpeness. The interior is modern and designed to make the most of the view, with one large open plan room, incorporating kitchen, dining room and sitting areas, all looking out onto the stunning lake. Three sets of folding doors open out onto a warm south-facing deck that spans the width of the house. The garden is large and you can explore the 60-acre Meare on the rowing boat from our private jetty.

Neighborhood info

The beach is a 5 minute walk away - as are the pub (with good food) and two cafes. There is brilliant cycling - bring your bikes or hire them locally. The Meare and the view are always spectacular. There is a Regatta that takes place mid August. The children love it and have entered the races in the past. Activities are not at our end of the Meare but you can hear them from the garden. There is also a fantastic firework display at the end of the regatta that you can watch bobbing from our boat in the middle of the Meare. The popular Aldeburgh Carnival is in early to mid August every year.
