Madras Cottage located in the outskirts of Harray village on the west mainland area of Mainland Orkney, approximately 1 mile from Dounby village where you’ll find all local amenities like post office, petrol station, doctor surgery, pharmacy , supermarket. You will also find a local butcher shop, pub and restaurant. The cottage is surrounded by green farmland so you will be able to see both farm animals like sheep, cattle and wild animals in the likes of greyleg geese, pheasants and rabbits, just to name a few. A truly peacefull location in the farming heartland of mainland Orkney. There’s a lot of historic sites of orkney only a short distance away, standing stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar is only 4 miles away so as the Neolithic village of Scara Brae. Major towns of Orkney like Stromness and Kirkwall are both approximately 10 miles away.
