Mr Hares hut is privately located in our 2 acre garden. Guests have exclusivity to a one acre paddock, farthest from the house & access down the side of our field, so you can come & go easily. We respect guests privacy, so we are available only, if required. Dogs welcomed, max 2x well behaved. Parking is available. The hut has an electric shower & chemical Thetford toilet. The kitchen has an oven, Hobs, kettle, toaster, hot water & all you’d need to cook a meal. The bed is elevated as you get with all shepherd huts, we have available a side rail, which guests can fit if required. There a TV & radio in the hut. Guests with limited mobility might find the bed unsuitable. Outside there is a raised decking area with a separate hut which has a multi wood burning stove with some cozy seating. We start you off with a pack of wood, kindling & lighters to enjoy the stove. Further packs are available at a small cost. Complementary bikes are available to explore the quite countryside. You can also play some pool in our cabin opposite the hut. We have mapped out some off Beaten track walks directly from the hut so guests can do a variety of walks along byways, open fields & tracks.

My wife Linda and I have lived in the beautiful Suffolk countryside for over 2 decades now bringing up our 2 children. We care passionately that our guests have a great value relaxing stay. Yaxley & Mellis are outstanding villages, which are well connected with 2 pubs & an abundance of country walks down ancient byways & or the largest meadow common land in suffolk. Eye is just a mile away, which is a great little market town with a diverse collection of shops, pubs, restaurants, charity shops, cafes, takeaway options & community facilities. There a castle to explore, river & meadow walks. Diss is just 5 miles away with the town centred around the Mere (lake) You can enjoy waterside pubs & cafes & all amenities you’d expect, including: , Morrisons, Tesco & Aldi. Thornham walks is a must for a chilled day out relaxing in the woods with a forge cafe, restaurant or community coffee shop.
