Mourne Seaside House is a cosy, welcoming place to stay just a short walk from the seafront and Newcastle town centre, with the Mourne Mountains right on your doorstep. It’s a space we've put a lot of care into, with comfort and relaxation in mind. After a day out exploring, you can unwind in the living room with the media wall and electric fire, or step outside and enjoy the hot tub - especially nice in the evenings with the sea air around you. Inside, everything is set up to make your stay easy. There is fresh bed linen and towels, fast Wi-Fi, and a smart TV, along with a fully equipped kitchen if you feel like staying in. The bedrooms are quiet and comfortable, and guests often mention how quickly it feels like home. The location really is one of the best parts. You can walk to the beach, cafés, shops, and forest trails, all within a few minutes. Royal County Down Golf Course is close by, and Tollymore and Castlewellan Forest Parks are just a short drive away. Whether you're here to get out into the mountains or simply slow down and relax, it’s an easy, comfortable base in a beautiful part of Northern Ireland.*

I grew up nearby and still love the simple things that make it special, such as the fresh sea air, mountain hikes, forest walks, and quiet evenings with amazing views. I’m always happy to share local recommendations, whether that’s a favourite walk, a cosy café, or somewhere great for golf or photography. It’s important to me that guests feel comfortable and settled from the moment they arrive. I take a lot of care in making sure the house is clean, comfortable, and ready for a stress-free stay. If you need anything during your visit, I’m always on hand to help or point you in the right direction. Whether you are here for hiking, a family break, or just some time to switch off, I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I enjoy sharing this place with you.

The house is set in a quiet part of Newcastle, just a short walk from both the seafront and the Mourne Mountains. You can easily walk to Donard Park, the beach, and the start of some of the area’s most popular trails. Royal County Down Golf Course is also only a few minutes away. One of the things that makes Newcastle special is how much you have right on your doorstep. Within minutes, you can be by the sea, in the forest, or heading up into the mountains. It’s a place people come to slow down, get outdoors, and take in the incredible surroundings. The town itself has a really friendly, relaxed feel, with plenty of cafés, restaurants, and spots to stop after a walk. At weekends and during the summer, there’s a lovely buzz around the town, but it never feels too busy or overwhelming. It’s an easy place to settle into, whether you’re here for walking, golf, or just some time to unwind. A lot of guests return year after year, which says a lot about how enjoyable and peaceful it is.
