Uldale nestles in the Caldbeck Fells, 5 miles south of Caldbeck, 10 miles north of Keswick and 4 miles from Bassenthwaite Lake. This quieter corner of the National Park is the perfect base from which to relax and unwind, with walking from the door, wander over the back of Skiddaw, take in the breathtaking views of Bassenthwaite and Derwentwater as you head to Keswick where you can spend the day exploring the towns shops, bars and restaurants. If the walk back seems to much, return on one of the many buses servicing the area. Within a short drive there are popular attractions waiting for you to explore including Dodd Wood, Ashness Bridge, Whinlatter Forest mountain bike trails and Go Ape along with the watersport opportunities on the lake itself. Mae’s Shepherds Hut sits in the grounds of Mae’s Tea Room and Art Gallery and provides a warm and cosy base for a couple looking for a romantic getaway with stunning views. Guests can enjoy delicious freshly baked treats or pre order an evening meal to be enjoyed on the decking. With heating throughout and a wood burning stove the compact open plan living area has seating, wood burning stove and TV. The kitchenette has a sink, hob, toaster, fridge and microwave. King size bed. Shower room with hand basin and WC. All logs, electric, bed linen and towels included. Private parking for 1 car. There is a raised decking area to the front of the shepherds hut and a viewing platform offering panoramic views over the Caldbeck fells.
