Company info

The Crown Hotel is operated by the Duncan family, Allan a former award winning chef, his wife Margaret and Banqueting and Front of House Manager and their son Andrew also a trained chef and bar manager. Allan who was born in Stonehaven moved to Glasgow many years ago where he and Margaret, a Glaswegian, embarked on their career in the hospitality industry having previously worked for many of the large hotel chains. Their business started with small coffee shops which progressed to a small bed and breakfast hotel and latterly a Country House Hotel/Wedding Venue on the outskirts of Glasgow when a newly qualified Andrew joined Allan in the kitchen and taking over the day to day management of the bar areas. Deciding to relocate to the North East in 2020, the family embarked on locating a new operation in the surrounding area, which they did in June 2022 when they purchased the Crown Hotel. The hotel is shortly about to undergo a refurbishment programme starting with the bar and lounge areas which will progress to the bedrooms over the coming months. The friendly local staff are always on hand with the family to make sure that guests' have a homely, relaxed stay.

The Crown Hotel is situated at 10 King Street, DD10 0RG the main thoroughfare in the seaside village of Inverbervie on the A92 between Aberdeen and Dundee. Aberdeen is a 30 minute drive away and Dundee approximately one hour. Visitors to these two cities have a wide selection of shopping, entertainment and tourist attractions before returning to the serenity of Inverbervie for the evening. Stonehaven is a short 15 minute drive where guests can find the famous Dunnottar Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots stayed on the 26th August, 1562 on her way to the North of Scotland. Stonehaven also boasts an Open Air Heated swimming pool which is open from March till October each year, guests visiting this attraction can pre-book a midnight swim. The Tolbooth Museum offers a free history tour which is situated at the harbour and beach. Stonehaven also offers many festivals, markets and it's own Highland Games during the summer months all easily accessible by public transport or car. Montrose on the south side of Inverbervie offers the Air Station Heritage Centre, an Art Gallery and Montrose Links Golf Course which has fantastic views and offers access to the beach from the sandy dunes which...
