A beautiful granite Steading, the Hideaway is unique with 18 large arched Douglas fir trusses forming the structure of the house and a key element of the decor and interior. Owner built in 2012, fully renovated and designed to be spacious and comfortable for guests with a large family. Newly constructed patio in the courtyard complements the existing exterior, giving way to the large garden and adjoining Bothy. The hot tub is situated in the corner of the site providing guests with extensive uninterrupted views over the unspoilt Donside Valley. We welcome guests from all over the world, with different reasons for their visit.. family gatherings, celebrations, theme weekends, yoga retreats, Speyside Whiskey Trail, Balmoral visits, walking groups, golfers, fishing groups and workers looking for a home from home when work brings them to the area. We are close to Aboyne, Banchory, Braemar, Ballater, Alford, Inverurie and Westhill. Aberdeen is 24 miles from us on the B9119. Catering companies are available in the area and we can host small weddings limited to staying guests. Guests love to explore the area, our 3 nights minimum stay gives guests 2 full days to venture, in particular, Banchory, Aboyne, Balmoral, Aviemore for the day and Speyside for the boys. The Boat Aboyne for good food, Banchory Logde and The Echt Tandoori are favourites too.. Cragievar Castle, said to be used as a basis for the Disney Castle, 2 miles from the house. Lots of forest walks, trails and steeped in Royal History as The late Queens favourite hideaway at Balmoral.
