The Old forge is a recently built stone farm house fitted with a classical oak interior. The property has three bedrooms all with large double beds, of which two are ensuite and have additional single beds. The ground floor comprises one of the bedrooms a large living room with a log burner and double doors which open to the patio and garden. There is a large kitchen with all modern equipment and fittings, with a range AGA and seating for eight. The other two main bedrooms are on the first floor which has access via a mezzanine walkway, the rooms have sea views from all sides and two master ensuite bathrooms with bath and shower's. In addition the property has a large garden and patio area for outdoor dining with panoramic sea views.
My Name is Simon Couldridge and my wife is Caragh and we have been living on Sark since 1989 and live at the Main Plaisance House just around the corner from the Old Forge. This was our first house when we moved to the island and we took 7 years to rebuild it while managing a large family. In addition to this property we also run a Bed and Breakfast in our Scandinavian Log cabin and my wife runs an award winning chocolate company with a shop on the side of the main Plaisance House which is open from March through until the end of October.
Sark is a very peaceful and tranquil island community, where you can escape the hustle and bustle of modern life to recharge and enjoy all the Island has to offer in natural beauty, from star gazing to costal exploring. We are located towards the south of the Island just before La Coupèe which is bridge which extends along a precipice connecting the main island "Big Sark" with "Little Sark". We are also just 200m from one of the islands best beaches in La Grand Greve which is mostly sandy, although there are 300 odd steps to reach the beach its defiantly worth it. As the Island is small reaching the main village and shops only takes 15mins on bike and 25mins walking so you can get around the island very easily.

We wish to inform you of a change in arrangements for delivery of luggage from Sark Harbor to our Guest House The Old Forge.

If you have any luggage you need transporting please get a Island Deliveries luggage tag from the shipping offices in Guernsey/Jersey and write on them our address being The Old Forge, and your luggage will automatically be delivered up for you at a charge currently of £2.50 per bag each (maybe be more if a very large bag/box etc) way payable here upon arrival/before check out.

Please inform The Old Forge B&B of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Payment before arrival by bank transfer is required. The property will contact you after you book to provide instructions.
