Within walking distance of the Pottage is the beautiful village of Hoxne which is steeped in history, with King Edmund having been martyred by the Danes just a stones throw from the market square. Just a short drive away there are a number of other eateries and pubs. The Fox and Goose in Fressingfield (six miles) and The Auberge at Eye (five miles), come highly recommended. The Old King's Head in Brockdish (three miles). Diss has an excellent vegan cafe, Amandines (six miles) For walkers, The Pottage is situated moments from the Mid Suffolk Footpath, 20 miles through the heart of the county in quintessentially English countryside. Suffolk is home to an abundance of beautiful villages. Within easy reach of Hoxne you can visit Eye (three miles), Debenham (seven miles), Yoxford (12 miles), Framlingham (15 miles) and Woodbridge (25 miles). For those longing for the bright lights, Bury St Edmunds is 22 miles to the south and Norwich 25 miles to the south, both deservedly famous for being some of the most attractive cities in the country.
