The Red Brick Barn is located in the quaint village of Rookhope. Making up part of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the barn has a lush green backdrop. Surrounded by stunning landscapes of heather clad moorlands, sweeping dales and winding rivers, there is plenty to uncover. With thriving wildlife and unspoilt scenery, it really does need to be seen to be believed. It is home to England’s largest waterfall and one of the darkest skies in the country where you can see 1000s of stars on a clear night. If you’re looking for a relaxing retreat, you can enjoy long, quiet walks through the countryside. If you’d prefer more activity, the landscape is perfect for energetic hikes and you can also take advantage of a full range of outdoor activities including cycling, fresh water fishing, canoeing, sailing and horse riding. The TV show Vera was filmed in this area, especially in Blanchland which is ten minutes away from Rookhope.
