Welcome to The Urquhart — where good times, good company, and memorable experiences come naturally.
I’m delighted to welcome guests to The Urquhart, a thoughtfully renovated former brewery in the heart of Oldmeldrum. When I am travelling, I look for something a bit different and always somewhere that feels just like me, so I have designed The Urquhart to provide lots of space, with areas to be together in or little quiet areas. Everyone is amazed by the size of the property, which looks small from the frontage but it offers a spacious, stylish, and genuinely comfortable home from home.
My background is in fashion retail, business, and marketing, and I’m passionate about quality, good design, but not forgetting our local Scottish heritage, and supporting local businesses, as that's what keeps communities vibrant and interesting to visit.
I particularly love the outdoors, especially walking, and I know how important it is to have a comfortable, well-equipped base to return to at the end of the day. The Urquhart is perfectly placed to enjoy both local life as well the wider area.
When choosing accommodation, I like to look for places with character, personality, and great facilities — particularly a good kitchen, as I enjoy cooking from scratch, and it's helpful for me as I need a gluten free diet.
For me as a host and a traveller, the vision was to transform this unique building into a place where guests can truly relax — whether visiting for a wedding, a special celebration, time with family or friends, or bring your pets, I have tow black labs, to explore the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside. Oldmeldrum is a charming and friendly town, with lots of facilities and places to eat and its central location is ideal for leaving the car and walking around the town.
I look forward to welcoming you and helping make your stay relaxing, memorable, and effortless.
Best Wishes! Come and visit soon. Jacqueline x
