The Vicar's View is the latest destination apartment at the Old Vicarage, a landmark Victorian building at the heart of Lincoln's historic uphill area. Just a stone's throw away from Castle Square and a couple of minutes easy walk to the castle and cathedral, the apartment boasts a designated parking space and a far-reaching view of the city to the countryside beyond from the private balcony. Thoughtfully decorated to reflect the period of the building, yet offering all modern amenities, the apartment captures the timeless elegance of days gone by and is the perfect base from which to explore Lincoln's unique and, at times, tumultuous history. We are super close to a wide selection of high quality restaurants, stylish bars and cosy pubs, so you can abandon the car, and explore on foot. And when you have nailed our amazing city, the county of Lincolnshire offers an array of fun activities - check out the Bomber Command Centre, go 'antiquing' at Hemswell Cliff Antiques Centre, seek out the seals at Donna Nook. There is so much to do and see!
As well as hosting at our flats in Lincoln, Paul and I are also parents and foster parents, and love traveling ourselves. We are very proud of our achievements in offering high quality and fun accommodation to visitors. We hope you will love what we do.
The two main museums, The Collection and The Museum of Lincolnshire Life are well worth a visit, as is the Usher Gallery. Also of note is the Bishop's Palace, and for the spooky minded, there is a ghost walk that promises to introduce you to some of our 'older residents'. This leaves from Castle Square every evening, for those that dare. The cathedral is an opportunity to remember everything your junior school history teacher told you about Mediaeval architecture - don't forget to look out for the Lincoln Imp. The castle is a story in chapters - beginning with the Romans, then developed by the Normans, and perhaps most intriguing of all, becoming a Victorian prison. And we have lots of events going on throughout the seasons. The tourist information centre is about a minute's walk from our place, and they will be able to tell you all about concerts, farmer's markets, art exhibitions and other events that make Lincolnshire such a special place.
