Villa Farm Cottage is a fully restored C18th Lincolnshire cottage with a large modern feature handcast brick extension. The cottage retains all period features.The garden is designed to include outdoor eating areas, clipped yew and privet hedging, Orchard and log store. The house and grounds are surrounded by farm and pasture.

After moving from my home country Germany to the UK in 1987, I had worked already a number of years abroad in the hotel industry. I continued in the UK to work as a lead receptionist in a hotel but changed my career to get more involved in health and safety and community safety.After 2 years in Spain Martin and I returned to the UK and found the lovely cottage in Lincolnshire, surrounded by farms and fields. The ideal place for a small Bed & Breakfast. In the summer you will find me most of the time outside in the garden and in the autumn harvesting in the orchard. So the pantry is normally well stocked with homemade marmelades and cakes. We hope you enjoy the peaceful surroundings, a good night sleep and a well cooked breakfast when staying with us. We are looking forward to welcoming you at our cottage.

Thornton Abbey's enormous and ornate fortified gatehouse is the largest and amongst the finest in England.You will find the Abbey when you turn left out of the Cottage, walk along Station Road, across the railway line, and you will see the Abbey straight ahead, a 15 to 20 minute walk. Henry VIII stayed at the Abbey in October 1541 with Katherin Howard to hold a meeting of the Privy Council. Thornton Abbey was dissolved on 12th December1539 by King Henry VIII and then re-founded by King Henry VIII as a college of secular cannons. Six years later the site was granted to the Bishop of Lincoln by Edward VI. During the 17th Century a stately home and farmhouse was built from stone taken from the abbey church.
