Property info

Located in the heart of Westleton, Yew Tree Cottage is a beautifully presented, detached eco-friendly Suffolk cottage offering a relaxed escape close to the coast. Finished to a high standard throughout, it features a cosy wood-burning stove, underfloor heating, and a modern kitchen, alongside an enclosed garden with a pavilion and outdoor seating that is perfect for unwinding after coastal adventures. Sleeping up to four guests and welcoming one well-behaved four-legged friend, this charming village retreat is ideal for couples, small families, or friends seeking a peaceful base near the Suffolk coast.

Neighborhood info

The picturesque village of Westleton is well equipped for your stay. Besides the village shop and post office there are two pubs, The Crown and The White Horse Inn along with a tea shop, The Snug Tea Room. The village is set on the edge of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are fantastic walks taking in the different landscapes which make up this hugely important area and the RSPB reserve at Minsmere is a short distance away. Dunwich is close by and besides the heathland which is maintained by the National Trust, you can explore the history of this once thriving port and the lost town which the sea claimed in the 13th and 14th Centuries. Dunwich has a lovely beach and Walberswick is further north on the coast if you fancy a day at the seaside. The Victorian seaside resorts of Aldeburgh and Southwold are equidistant from Westleton and besides the lure of the beaches, have lots of pubs and restaurants serving locally produced food and fresh fish along with a number of independent shops. If you fancy a real treat, nothing quite compares to fish and chips eaten on the beach. Heading south is the small village of Orford with its impressive Castle and beautiful quay. Orford is home to Pinney's, a family-run business specialising in quality smoked products and growing Suffolk oysters. Pinney's can be enjoyed at home or eaten at the Butley Orford Oysterage. If you have time, a boat trip to Orford Ness is highly recommended.
