Your hostess is English & has worked in the travel & hospitality industry from the age of 18 until taking early retirement. The on-site Manager is a Gambian national named Nyama, who gained her professional Hospitality & Catering qualifications about 13 years ago & has worked hard to gain the experience to back-up her qualifications. She speaks 4 native languages & also has good English skills. We have 24/7 security at Villa Calliandra & maid services to all rooms Monday-Saturday. We pride ourselves on having a family atmosphere. We are a small & friendly team, & look forward to meeting you !

Property info

We welcome you to our small, exclusive B&B in a family environment. This already starts at the airport, where we can pick you up (option). The villa is located in a quiet area, but not far from the beach and the tourist center with its hotels, restaurants, bars, discos and shops. According to European standards we would have a *** plus rating. All our rooms have their own bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. The family room / suite also has a bath. All rooms have a fridge, kettle, fan, mosquito screen and most have AC (option). In the lounge you can watch TV or a DVD, listen to music or read a book from our small library. Wifi available in all rooms. The house is tastefully furnished to high standards and African art. A large part of the furniture is made by hand from local materials such as palm tree or bamboo. The continental breakfast buffet can be eaten indoors or on the poolside terrace. The homemade cake, fruit juice and jam are delicious. We use as many local products as possible. The 10x5m swimming pool with sun beds and umbrellas is surrounded by a tropical garden. On the covered terrace is a small self-service bar. Gym, bike hire, many tips to visit the region.

Villa Calliandra is located in a quiet area, but not far from the beach and the tourist area with his hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and shops. Principel attractions: monkey park, crocodile pool, tye and dye factory, Banjul museum and market. Brikama woodcarving, Tanji museum and fishmarket, Abuko zoo, Makasuta nature reserve,... At the beach you can do horse riding. We can arrange a taxi to collect you from the airport with one of our trusted & reliable Tourist Board approved drivers, please contact us for current price which is payable to the driver.
