Enjoy an endless view of Aegean sea from a traditional cycladic house located to the iconic village of Kochylos. The house is placed at the edges of the village and its location absolutely promotes privacy. The house is fully equipped and it even has its own power generator in case of a power breakdown. There is also a fourth room which contains a traditional big stone oven and a gas stove for cooking(besides the classic electrical in kitchen).
My name is George and im a captain. Due to my proffesion i have been around the globe many times. Those experienses i hope to have been mirrored to my house!!!
Kochilos village has its roots back to 15th century, the era of pirate attacks. Back then the whole village was located in lower altitude and somewhat hidden by the sea. Later around 17th century took its current amphitheatrical position with an astonishing view to Aegean sea. There is also the Castle of Faneromeni which is located in close proximity to Kochilos. The Castle dates back to the Middle Ages and it was built to ward off pirate attacks on the island. The location of the castle is very strategic with a terrain which is literally inaccessible and at the same time offering endless sea vistas to keep an eye on the pirates. The interior of the Castle is well protected by impregnable walls and some portions of the wall are still in very good conditions. Visitors to the castle can view the vestiges and remnants of a number of structures that stood here. Legend has it that there exist a few tunnels which extended all the way to the coast of Melissa. The Castle is not in good condition today, but it is a frequent trekking destination on the island.
