Allium Art House takes its name from the rare Allium panormitisi, a unique species of flowering plant found exclusively on the island of Symi. Rare in its own right, much like the historic house itself, the property has been lovingly restored with a deep appreciation for art and a steadfast commitment to preserving its traditional character. The house is adorned with works by renowned Greek artists, while the intricate woodcarvings have been handcrafted by a local artisan, celebrating the island’s rich craftsmanship and heritage. The bathroom is a truly unique creation, designed and entirely handcrafted by the owner herself, a ceramic artist. The lighting, by Louis Poulsen, brings a touch of timeless Scandinavian design to the space, while COCO-MAT ensures an exceptionally comfortable and restful night’s sleep. The house was crafted with great passion and meticulous attention to detail by Konstantinos and Maria. Their deep love for Panormitis and the island of Symi brought them all the way from northern Greece to turn a long-held dream into reality. Allium Art House is located in Gialos, the picturesque harbor area of Symi, in a truly central location. Set up the characteristic stone steps, right next to the Municipal Art Gallery of Symi, the house offers an authentic taste of the island while being ideally situated for exploring everything the town has to offer. From this prime location, you have immediate access to local shops and a supermarket, while the harbor and the famous Kali Strata are just a two-minute walk away.
