Ancient Gortyna Home is a small traditional stone-built house located in the village of Gortyna (Mitropolis), Crete. It offers a unique and peaceful stay with views of the ruins of the Early Christian Basilica and its ancient mosaic. The house is just a 5-minute walk from the Archaeological Site of Gortyna, one of Crete’s most important historical landmarks. It is located 47 km from Heraklion city, and just a short drive from several popular beaches. The nearest airport, Heraklion International Airport “Nikos Kazantzakis”, is about 50 km away. The house consists of a spacious open-plan room with a double bed, while an extra folding bed is also available for one additional guest. The living area is cosy and comfortable, featuring a sofa, coffee table and side table. The kitchen area is fully equipped with everything needed for a pleasant stay, including an electric stove, microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, dining table and chairs, as well as essential household items. The bathroom includes a shower and a washing machine, which guests are welcome to use freely. Safety lights are also installed on the walls for extra comfort and security. Last but not least, the outdoor area is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a relaxing meal, while taking in the beautiful view of the excavation area of the Triangular Temple.
