Perfect for honeymooners and couples seeking romance and a private escape, Anemomilos Villa is a stylishly renovated old windmill standing atop a hill with spectacular views and a welcome, ever-present breeze. Surrounded by vineyards on the edge of the sleepy village of Kavalos, Anemomilos Villa is carefully furnished in traditional stone with handcrafted furnishings “in the round” and a beautiful, private garden. Entrance is from the front terrace into an open-plan fully fitted and well equipped kitchen/dining/sitting room plus small shower room. The first floor double bedroom, again “in the round”, has a feature of a huge beam (part of the old mill mechanism). Facilities include a washing machine, tv (Greek channels), CD and DVD player. Air con is really not necessary here due to the location, the breeze and the thick stone walls. In addition the bedroom has a powerful floor-standing fan. Both shade and full-on sunshine can be enjoyed in Anemomilos Villa lovely garden, complete with swimming pool (22 sq m, depth 1.70m). Views from here are quite lovely – sea and mountain in all directions and to Lefkas town in the distance below.
Born in 1968 in Kavalos, with a dream of restoring the windmill to his ancestors, built in 1845 and making it visitable and functional.
The larger village of Lazarata, with a mini-market, a couple of tavernas and two excellent traditional bakeries, is just 2 km away (5 mins. drive), while Lefkas town and the coastal regions to the east and west – where sandy beaches abound – are a 15 minute drive. please note that it is 120m walk from the main road where you park the car.
