Asfendamos compound is a family owned business operated by me and my husband. It was built in a field that belonged to my family for many generations. The land had raisins (grapes) and around late 80's my father planted the orange and olive trees that you see around. The main reason that we have chosen this field to build our property is because of the natural scenery, surrounded by pine forest, sand dunes, olive and orange trees as far as the eye can see. There are no other buildings in the area which makes it a quiet and relaxing place to stay. Its great asset is an over 500 years old tree "Asfendamos» that wins everyone’s admiration. All the buildings are stone built in order to add to the beauty of the scenery and also to provide insulation from the heat in the summer or from the cold in the winter. The whole area is mostly rural and for this reason the landscape has stayed intact over the years. The village Kakovatos was always famous as a food destination, from around the area, with good quality food and affordable prices. All the taverns serve original Greek kitchen food, with many of the raw materials to have been picked up from the owner's garden.
Enjoy the famous antiquities, of Ancient Olympia, Temple of Apollon in Vasses, ancient Ithomi (the ancient Messina), all less then an hour drive from Asfendamos. In August 22-23 the area celebrates with a two day fest the Virgin Mary of Varko. A church that was built in a smal cave and it hided a very significant image of the Virgin Mary. Take a 15 minutes drive and visit: Kalidona, a mountain village, and enjoy the view of the whole Kyparissian golf. Mountain village Schiny (Σχίνοι) which is famous for its beautifull restored stone build houses.
