Our roots trace back to the Dere region, where we were fortunate to acquire property. Driven by our ownership and deep appreciation for the beauty of this place, we conceived the idea of restoring two farmhouses and cultivating the land. Our motivation is straightforward – a genuine willingness to create employment opportunities and uphold respect for people, the environment, our traditions, and the renowned Cretan hospitality. Our philosophy revolves around preserving the environmentally friendly and human-oriented Cretan tradition and history. Here, waste is minimized, and natural products are recycled. Every effort is made to find alternative uses for materials. This sustainable cycle extends to the fruits of the earth, where fruits and vegetables are utilized in the kitchen, and their residues, along with other plants, nourish the animals, providing us with essential products such as milk, meat, leather, wool, and manure. Our commitment to an enhanced natural environment grows stronger each year through initiatives like reforestation and the introduction of new crops and products. This approach allows us to savor and appreciate the unique characteristics of each season. Deres Chania village is a verdant semi-mountainous settlement of Platanias municipality with many water springs and the sources of Tavronitis River. It is located 32 km from Chania Crete. Deres is a small, beautiful, peaceful village in a quiet, green area with many olive groves. Surrounded by small rivers, lush greenery of plane trees and wild mountains, all green setting and idyllic scenery. The fortress Metochi that you will see at Deres is an impressive fortress and a complex of Venetian buildings that still survive. It has a large internal courtyard and buildings all around, and it was the residence of the Venetian ruler and, later, the residence of the Turkish Aga, who ruled the region during the Ottoman occupation. If you ever visit Deres, you should definitely experience the traditional festivals and celebrations that are organized four times a year from early July to early September.
