Built on Myrtos first house land/property of our great grand father. He was called Captain Yiannis Daskalakis and was the founder of contemporary Myrtos and also a succesfull warrier and captain against the Otoman occupation 130yrs ago. This a family run resort and Maria - the mother - was the center of its breathing. She was checking the rooms, the yard around, the flowers; everything should be clean and proper... She used Italian, English, German, Greek words, but mainly body language in an excelent communication. We, the rest of he family, are her pupils and we are oblaged to follow her efford,,,

We are family of musicians (from Greek traditional to Eyropean Classic), dancers and we like art. We know well enough the history, music, dances, tradition of Crete and Greece in general. We like exchance relevant information with our visitors. Twice a week we give small evening concerts of tradional greek music. Some friends come and drink local Raki with us in a very friendly party with dance.

The old stone church of San Antonio comes from long way back since the Venician period. It dominates the area with its big yard around it in a calm and peacefull way. Next to it is the local museum with archeological Minoan findings from Myrtos, and other items related to Myrtos history and culture. We as kids had started in informal excavation under the directions of our elementary school teacher George Dimitrianakis. Myrtos is considered until today the older culture in Crete with a very long known history of 5000 years. The two hills to the east of the village carry the remains of that long history.
